Hello there! I'm Avery Thibault -

Growing up on the West Coast, I used to say that I would NEVER leave California’s beautiful scenery, so God really must have a sense of humor…
Now, here I am settled in Rapid City, South Dakota. I spend my time homemaking, raising babies, taking photos and patiently waiting to move out of the city to our small homestead Hills.

"...whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things."

A bit about me
First and foremost, I am a wife, mama and hardcore Catholic. What brings me the most joy is living out my dream of being a homemaker, but some other things that bring me joy are thrifting, playing boardgames, hosting events, making things beautiful and making goooood coffee. Most day's you can find me at home with my toddler (growing our second baby currently) playing with cars or stuffed animals.
I met my husband in 2022, we got married in 2023 and had our first baby in 2024... I’m not surprised at all by how much my world has shifted in the last few years, as my life has almost always moved at a fast pace. I started working odd creative jobs at the age of 14 and haven’t really stopped since. One of my favorite jobs was working in the coffee world: I was a certified professional barista trainer (yes, surprisingly, that's a legit job) through the Specialty Coffee Association and helped open a few coffee shops. Someday, I hope to have a farm-to-table coffee shop+flower shop that I can run with my kiddos! In the foreseeable future, we plan to move out of the city to small homestead and let our kids run wild. Do I know how to run a homestead? Nope, but you bet I’ll learn how to one way or another!
In addition to my regular life of mothering and homemaking, I have a genuine love for documenting the emotion and connection shared between loved ones. My photography style is warm, comfortable, real and joyful. I want your authentic personalities to guide our shoot to allow your photos to feel like you in the best ways. Most importantly, I hope to genuinely capture the sweetness that is shared in your daily life so that you can look back at your photos, year after year, and feel all that sweetness all over again. That's what I look for in a photographer when capturing different stages of my own family, so I strive to bring that to each session and gallery that I send out.
